HOW DO PRIMAL FEAR PREPARE A RECORDING SESSION? First were collecting ideas every member for its own, then we work together on these ideas and select the final songs for the pre production. For "black sun" weve chosen 18 songs for the pre-production and we produce this songs like an album in our practice room on a hard disk recording system. Our demos always sounding like some other peoples real albums. We listen to the finsihed songs for about 3 weeks and then we decide the final songs, we will record in the real studio starting in December. WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT STEPS FOR RECORDING THE NEW PF- ALBUM ACCORDING TO EACH MEMBER, PERSONAL VIEW, STATE OF MIND AND FEELINGS? We will start with the drums, preparing a good pilot track for Klaus with mostly guitars and then he starts to play, I add the bass tracks too and there will be one guitarist - probably Stefan on hand, for the first basic guitar tracks. I like Ralf to start to sing very early, that he has enough rest for his voice, if you can say this, cause our sessions are very intensive. The backline is always ready to chose if we need more basslines or more guitar tracks. HOW DO PRIMAL FEAR WORK TOGETHER ON A TRACK WITH HENNY LIVING SO FAR FROM THE BAND? No problem, we have all similar pc recording systems and we e-mail the tracks permanently since September to each member. Distance is no border for Rockn Roll. I just received a new playback track - basicly "Revolution" was an idea by my side, which Henny worked on his guitar-parts and send it back to us. Tomorrow we will go in our pre-production studio and Stefan will handle the recordings, while Im working with Ralf on his vocaltracks. |
